We recently came together with all project partners for an online FoH

FoH – Future of Healthcare coordination meeting, bringing together the Quality Assurance Committee and Steering Group to review progress and align next steps.
During the meeting, partners discussed the development plan of the FoH Framework, the focus group methodology under WP2, ethical approval updates, dissemination and quality management aspects, and the initial structure of the FoH digital platform. A key point of discussion was ensuring strong alignment between focus group outcomes and the training modules to be developed in WP3 and WP4, particularly in relation to soft skills, ethics, and human-centred AI competencies.
The meeting also set the timeline for upcoming activities, including WP4 and WP5 workshops, and reinforced the role of the FoH Framework as a practical guideline for VET providers beyond the lifetime of the project.
Collaborative discussions like these ensure coherence, quality, and real impact as FoH moves from research to training development.

FoH Coordination and Quality Assurance Meeting

The FoH – Future of Healthcare project partners recently held an important coordination meeting that brought together members of the Quality Assurance Committee and the Steering Group to review the current progress of the project and align the next steps for the upcoming implementation phases. Such meetings play a key role in ensuring that the project progresses according to its objectives while maintaining high standards of quality, transparency, and collaboration among partners.

During the meeting, consortium members discussed the ongoing development of the FoH Framework, which will serve as the core methodological reference for identifying future skills required in healthcare professions in the context of artificial intelligence and digital transformation. Particular attention was given to the preparation of the focus group activities under Work Package 2 (WP2), which aim to gather insights from healthcare professionals, educators, and other stakeholders regarding the competencies needed to effectively integrate AI technologies into healthcare practice.

Partners also exchanged updates regarding ethical approval procedures, an essential element when conducting research and stakeholder consultations in the healthcare sector. Ensuring compliance with ethical standards guarantees that the project respects data protection principles, professional integrity, and responsible use of information gathered through research activities.

In addition, the meeting addressed dissemination and quality management aspects, ensuring that project outputs will be communicated effectively and developed according to the highest standards. Partners reviewed the initial structure of the FoH digital learning platform, which will later host training modules designed to support healthcare professionals and VET learners in acquiring digital, analytical, and ethical competencies related to AI in healthcare.

A key point of discussion was the need to ensure strong alignment between the results of the focus groups and the development of the training modules planned under Work Packages 3 and 4. This alignment will help ensure that the learning materials are directly informed by real needs and experiences from the healthcare sector. Special emphasis was placed on integrating soft skills, ethical decision-making, and human-centred AI competencies, which are essential for maintaining patient-centred care in increasingly digital healthcare environments.

The meeting also helped establish the timeline for upcoming activities, including the preparation of WP4 training workshops and WP5 dissemination initiatives, which will support the testing and promotion of the project’s results. By coordinating these next steps early, the partnership ensures that research findings will smoothly transition into practical training tools and learning resources.

Ultimately, the FoH Framework is envisioned as more than just a project deliverable. It is intended to serve as a practical guideline for VET providers, healthcare educators, and training institutions across Europe, helping them adapt curricula to the evolving needs of AI-enabled healthcare systems even beyond the lifetime of the project.

Collaborative meetings such as this one are essential for maintaining coherence across all project activities. By bringing together partners to review progress, address challenges, and coordinate future actions, the FoH consortium ensures that the project continues to move forward with strong cooperation, high-quality results, and meaningful impact on healthcare education.
